creating the future.
Message
I believe that entrepreneurs have the ability to accelerate the inevitable future across the globe and over decades. I also wholeheartedly believe in their strong commitment to social issues, profound passion, and obsessive commitment to make this happen.
Even I, a person usually guided by logic, sometimes meet entrepreneurs who sweep me up in awe and admiration. I find myself irrationally falling in love with their ideals, suddenly committed to join them on a journey of spirit and courage.
As we journey together, I am committed to being someone that entrepreneurs can turn to first in their moments of hardship.
Biography
Up until my twenties, my driving force was an aspiration for the unseen “outside” world. As a child, I dreamt of becoming an archaeologist. Then, during my middle and high school years, I became engrossed in world history and geography. In university, my passions were sailing and backpacking. Looking back, all these interests might have been expressions of my fascination with the unknown—both humanity’s and my own.
I joined Bain & Company as a new graduate, and my work took me to the South Africa office. Later, I studied in the UK. But even then, I felt drawn to the unknown.
Then, in the last year of my twenties, during my studies in the UK amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself with endless time for self-reflection and exploration. I resolved myself to move, deciding that the unseen world should not just be admired, but created.
Entrepreneurs forge the future and accelerate its arrival. Believing in that future more than anyone else, deciding on it with all my heart, and living a life alongside it—that is what being a venture capitalist means to me. I am committed to pursuing this way of life as long as I can, until it is no longer necessary.
